EAR policy
There'll always be some twat asking "So what do you think about these people blowing scientists up", so, although we don't have a policy here it is. EAR concentrates on donating money raised to animal sanctuaries and charities in need, to persuading, demonstrating and campaigning. Direct action does not form part of our repertoire, so it is unnecessary to have a policy about it, just as we have no policy on giving vivisectors money to find "alternatives", as we are not involved in that type of campaign. However, violent direct action surely is inconsistent with a policy of persuasion. To harm and persuade at the same time is illogical. If you believe that, for example, people can be convinced to become vegetarian, then to harm animal abusers is to harm potential vegetarians. The justification for killing vivisectors would be that they cause suffering and death. Meat-eaters cause suffering and death; should they be shot? Most of us were meat-eaters at one time or another; should we have been killed? However, don't lose perspective of the situation. To my knowledge no animal abuser has ever been murdered (if you know different please get in touch; conversely several hunt sabs and other activists have been killed. ALF policy is non-violent direct action. So why, you ask, are you displaying a prisoner list if you're impartial. Because it gets people to visit the site, you're reading this aren't you?

Sentenced to 18 years for arson at several premises on the Isle of Wight, with a concurrent 14 year sentence for attempted arson in Bristol. Barry admitted the Bristol incidents, but is appealing conviction for the Isle of Wight attacks. Also appealing sentence for both.
Gillian Peachey RL3415. HMP Winchester, Women's Annexe, Romsey Road, Winchester, SO22 5HY.
Sentenced to 5 years for conspiracy to commit arson, with an additional 21 months for being in breach of a previous suspended sentence.
Geoff Sheppard MD 1030. HMP Parkhurst, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5NX.
Serving 7 years for possession of a shotgun and possession of materials for making incendiary devices.
Barbara Trenholm RL1292. HMP Durham, Old Elvet, Durham, DH1 3HU.
Sentenced to 10 years for conspiracy to commit arson at the White Hart pube.
Justin Wright CE3046. HMP YO1. Portland, Dorset, DT5 1DL.
Sentenced to 5 years for arson at the White Hart pub, but maintains his innocence.
